We are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our clients that is secure and confidential at Little Lighthouse Psychology. 

Our mission is to provide therapeutic intervention to the individual in a neutral, supportive, and safe environment. Like a lighthouse, we will help guide the ship with a beacon, but encourage you to navigate the water and be the master of your ship. 

We understand every child, adolescent, and adult is unique and different, therefore therapeutic intervention is achieved by integrating  and using various evidence-based practices, techniques, and resources. 

Evidence-based intervention is scientifically measured and proven to be effective. We integrate evidence-based techniques ranging from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

We offer the following therapy to individuals across the lifespan

  • Treatment of Developmental Disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Treatment of Anxiety Disorders such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), phobias, worries & fears

  • Treatment of Depression Disorders in Children & Adults

We offer support work services to individuals

  • Social engagement, accessing your local community groups & community clubs

  • Companionship (social and emotional)

  • Helping access your community to your goals & interests (e.g. fitness classes, art classes)

  • Assisting with community engagement (e.g. doctor appointments)

  • Personal care

  • Transport 

Dr Michael Cvirn (He/Him)
Registered Psychologist, PhD

Dr Michael Cvirn is the principal Registered Psychologist (PhD) at Little Lighthouse Psychology,  Michael has a background in psychological research, where he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy. Michael specialises in working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing symptoms related to Anxiety Disorders, Depression Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Michael is extremely dedicated and passionate about his work, helping & supporting his clients through a range of issues & presentations. Michael has a caring nature and his disposition as a therapist is warm, relatable, and non-judgemental. Michael is a current member of the AAPi.  

Originally hailing from Broken Hill, NSW, Michael now calls the Central Coast home. Michael has been working on the Central Coast for a number of years in the private practice sector. When he is not working, you will find him playing video games, playing on his new Virtual Reality (VR) headset, riding his Harley Motorbike, and going for walks with Vanessa & Spot. 

Vanessa Kennedy (She/Her)
Individual Support Worker

Engaging and participating in the community is fundamental & paramount for an individuals health & wellbeing. Vanessa's role as a support worker is to assist individuals to achieve their goals within their community (e.g. health, personal, and recreational goals)

Vanessa is a passionate carer, with experience in caring for individuals across the lifespan experiencing Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Autism, ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy, she currently has her studies on hold (Bachelor of Psychology), and for the last 8 years her working background and experience has been in private and public health. 

Vanessa has a friendly, bubbly, and caring disposition. When she is not working, you will find her at pilates, painting, at the coffee shop, picking up a new hobby (at the moment it's origami) or at the beach with Michael & Spot.

Spot
Intern

Spot is the resident Jack Russell Terrier that you will see around Little Lighthouse Psychology.

Spot is larger than life in character, she is inquisitive, playful, trusting, and happy.

She loves her chicken necks, playing fetch, walks, and is always around for client comfort. 

Our Fees

We accept private referrals and referrals under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

  • Initial consultation is charged at $300.00 for 90 minutes

  • Subsequent consultation is charged at $205.00 for 60 minutes

Please note, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you may be eligible for a rebate. 

We accept NDIS Self-Managed and NDIS Plan-Managed participants

  • Initial consultation is charged at $321.61 for 90 minutes

  • Subsequent consultation is charged at $214.41 for 60 minutes
